Not on viewLike Francis Seymour Haden, Anders Zorn greatly admired the printmaker Rembrandt, and went on to make nearly 300 etchings after studying the craft in England during the early 1880s. By the time of this self-portrait, he had returned for good to his native Sweden after much international travel. The intimacy of this portrait suggests an artist who, having won his career laurels, could settle back into quiet introspection.
