Like many of the Chicago Imagists, Roger Brown attended the School of the Art Institute and would frequently visit the Field Museum to draw inspiration from the Northwest Native American masks and other ethnographic and archaeological artifacts on display there. Brown’s mask makes the chairman of the board one with the skyline around him, an anthropomorphic skyscraper complete with eye and mouth flaps.
