Description

Another important Etching Revival figure, Legros immigrated to England in 1863 at the suggestion of his fellow printmaker James Whistler and never returned to France. The image of an exhausted man wandering along a country road is a subject he returned to many times, documenting the hopelessness of endangered rural society.
