Yoshida Hodaka

BiographyYoshida Hodaka was a member of the prominent Hodaka printmaking family, which was known for landscape prints. However, when art became independent of government control after World War II, Hodaka began to explore abstraction. XX Monument was created during a time when Hodaka remained interested in abstraction while also drawing inspiration from pre-Columbian and ancient Japanese art.
