BiographyZao Wou-Ki was born in China and formally trained at the Hangzhou School of Fine Arts. In 1947, he moved to Paris to explore a long-held fascination with modernism. His works harmonize traditional Chinese calligraphic techniques with a rising interest in abstraction.
